Wish I had more good news

But I don't. I guess even though we received her citizenship, there a bit more to be processed regarding her citizenship so papers still can't be submitted to the courts yet. I wish communication with our Russian staff was better and I knew more of what we can expect next, but its not and I'm frustrated and sad. I received updated information on our little miss, as well as some updated pictures. It was not all that I had hoped for. This wait has been hard on us, and I think it hasn't been great on her either. As a mother you naturally want to do everything you can for your child as quickly as possible. The thought that your child's basic needs aren't being met is so painful. I knew this process would be hard, but honestly I had no idea the extent of it. I know thankfully most families do not have the same difficulties that we are having, and most children stay a much shorter amount of time in a baby home. Of course I find myself wanting to blame someone......our agency, Russia, the baby home, the government......but again as a mother none of that really matters.....I just need to keep doing whatever I can to get her home with us as quickly as possible, and do whatever I can once she's home.

I had the most horrible dream last night. Obviously this is really getting to me. Please hope we hear more good news very soon.

The smile that keeps me going

Here's the sweetest smile that greets me every morning, that keeps me fighting, that I painfully miss everyday, and that I'm hoping hasn't disappeared during these long months and months. I just can't help but think if this smile was attached to all her paperwork that they would see she's not just paperwork but a little girl who needs a family and her family needs her!! This was on our second visit and I really don't even know what got her laughing but I was able to capture some nice big belly laughs and smiles that are just completely precious.
Of course these smiles get me thru the days too, how could they not?? Can't you just picture our little miss playing with them as well, all smiles, bringing so much happiess to this momma's heart....?

I'm loving Corky's Coats

OK, so it probably won't fit her for this winter....heck, we may not even make it back to Russia during the winter! But it will be waiting for her for next winter and I just couldn't help myself, it is so sweet. Shopping for my kids is just so much more fun than shopping for myself. Although I better watch it......I'm going to need to shop for me a new wardrobe if I keep consoling myself during this wait with chocolate!!

Nothing like a fellow blogger

to brighten your day and outlook! Thank you, Amy....it was a wonderful visit. It just truly helps to know we're not alone in this gruelling process. Next time we'll do better with the location, perhaps really pamper ourselves! What a lucky little girl precious Cupcake is to be getting such a terrific mommy. I feel so grateful that I get to share this miraculous journey with such amazing people.

Needed some more fun retail therapy

These are just a few of the outfits I bought, guess I really needed a pick-me-up as nothing else is happening on our case. May as well just keep filling up her closet! These adorable outfits just put a smile on my face thinking of our Little Miss wearing them.
And I'm going to go with the canvas Russian nursery picture, but still may put a cute antique white frame around the canvas, we'll see what I find.

Have to have this for the nursery

It comes either as a ready-to-hang canvas print, or I could just get the print and frame it myself. Hmmmm, what do you think? I'm leaning towards the canvas to kinda match the canvas wall hanging over her crib, in either 11 x 14 or 16 x 20.

***YES, there is one for a boy....adorable! Here's the link from EBay. Think you can get it in various sizes as well:***

Found this old article

and really wish I could find out what the outcome was. It is not quite the same as our case, but to me it has the same feel. Reading about this case makes me feel better and much worse......better because I do feel like our agency in proceeding correctly and taking all the right steps to make sure her citizenship is obtained correctly and once we get that certificate we will be golden......and of course worse because I'm realising just how serious this problem is and the delays we could experience could be even longer. I haven't found anyone who has had these same Russian citizenship issues so I have nothing to compare our delays to and no way to know what to expect. The passport office did say they "by law" had 2-6 months to process the citizenship so I might have to prepare myself for the a worst-case-scenario of May before its complete (well no, I guess worst-case would be that her citizenship would be denied and left in limbo!!). Anyway, I'd be interested to hear others take on this case:

Other than worrying about this and researching for answers, we ditched all the Super Bowl fun and headed to Knott's Berry Farm yesterday. What a great day there! It was practically empty. I also picked up a few souvenir travel mugs for gifts for when we actually make it back to Russia.

2 years ago my angel ~Chelsea Kay~ was born

My second little girl, born too soon. I will forever remember you dancing in my tummy, the precious little time you spent in my arms and know you are now with your sister ~Sarah Kay~ watching over us. She was ultimately the one that set us on the path to our Little Miss and I will continue to pray that we do not once again end up with broken hearts and empty arms. Hopefully our Little Miss will one day hear about her sisters and truly understand what a blessing and the miracle she is to our family.

A new month

The start of a new week, a new month, perhaps this will bring some news. I'm really tired of posting once again that I have no news.......but I have NO news. The Russian staff still has not gotten her certificate of citizenshop processed. We are trying to get an update and perhaps some current pictures on our little miss, but nothing yet. Hopefully soon, very soon.
