Oh no.......sad news involving a boy adopted from Russia

http://www.themoscowtimes.com/news/article/adopted-boys-death-in-us-stirs-russian-anger/400923.html

This is so unthinkable and sad, yet I just keep thinking what it is going to mean for us and our little miss. I just read that Vlad will no longer be accepting medicals from our US doctors and all families will need to travel thru Moscow for medicals and their clinic. Will we be able to get a court date without these? I've updated these medicals here with our doctors for both Steve & I 3 times each! This will mean $1000's more. Could they make us get these medicals before even setting a court date....thus meaning 4 trips for us?? OK, deap breaths, I'm panicking.

That is so unthinkable. A similar case occurred right after we went to meet COlby the first time in June 2008. I was so worried. I hope it doesn't affect you and your little one. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

I'm also trying not to panic and am so sad for what I read. We've been brought this far; we have to make it all the way.

Shelly,
As always, thinking of you and your family and hoping this will not effect you all. This is just terrible and I hate hearing news of this sort!!! It is just undescribable!!

I can't stand reading stuff like that. It's so sad. We were actually asked by the Judge about whether or not we'd heard of a recent case which we had and then they asked Troy for details to be sure we had learned of it.

About the medicals - I would think you could maybe go through Moscow first and then hand carry them to the region for court.

shelly, a friend of mine in Baton Rouge had to do the medicals in Moscow for her region last year. she describes it in her blog (http://russiatorouge.blogspot.com/). She is very nice and very willing to answer questions if you would have them.

We're all in this together, aren't we? It's good to have friends to rely on when questions or concerns come up.
Very sad news.

I'm panicking a bit too.... ugh. Hoping this does not affect those of us SO close to getting court dates.

The thought of needing the medicals BEFORE a court date could be set is just AWFUL. I do know some agencies have been having families do the medicals in Moscow on the way home after accepting referrals on first trip. We didn't do that tho. Our agency has us do them on the way to court to have in hand to show the judge. I hope that will still be okay.

Best wishes to everyone waiting!!!
Praying for GOOD NEWS soon!!!

For some reason my computer will not let me open the link but from reading others post I kinda ger what might have happened.

I do not know Melissa but I was ion Vlad June of 2008 as well when the death of the boy took place. We had just gone to court and was afraid we were going to be asked back again; that never happened.

I am really sad that they are making you go to Moscow for medicals? What is the point?

You WILL get through this and little miss will be home! I am praying for you
