OK, so the citizenship is now 100% complete. What we are waiting on is the release letter from the ministry (yes Lisa, you were right, we didn't have that yet). This could not be processed until her citizenship was finished. Thankfully, the estimated wait for this letter is only 2-3 weeks. Of course 2-3 days wait would have been even better, but hey, its not terrible.
Now for the bad news.....our FBI clearances that we sent in Jan 4th still haven't even been logged into their system. So its been 8 weeks. I talked to someone today and he basically asked me what kind of Fed Ex envelope I mailed them in so someone could look thru a huge pile to try and find them!! Nice. He said "hopefully" someone would contact by the end of the week to let me know if they found them. I have confirmation from Fed Ex that they received them and were signed for, but that didn't seem to matter. I also contacted our congressman's office as I heard they could possibly help move the FBI along a little faster, but the person I spoke to didn't give me much hope. I'll still give it a try.
Other than that, we need to send our agency updated medicals (third set!!) which are already done and we need to sign an updated medical report on our little miss.....so, basically its only the FBI clearances for now that are the problem. Hopefully papers can still be submitted to the courts without having current FBI clearances so we can get the ball rolling and we'll just be sure to get them before we go to court.

Yowza! Hope things go smooth from here on out!
Those darn FBI clearances....I am hearing this from many families!!! That is crazy! You would think they could put them to the front!!! I hope you hear news from them this week and they can get them done quickly for you.
Thinking of you...

Shelly - Don't give them until the end of the week - call them back in the morning - then the next morning - then the next morning! Give them the name of the person that signed for the pkg. It is THEIR responsibility so keep on them. If the person you spoke to can't help (or isn't), then get her Mangager on the phone (then their Manager - etc, etc.).
Fingers crossed you get good news by the end of this week. This finger printing for the FBI is crazy!!!!!!

Hi Shelly,
We had a similar issue with the FBI and our congressman really came through. I was getting no where with the FBI, I called them everyday for five days, they didn't really care at all no matter who I talked to. I think what made ours URGENT was that we already had a set court date. When you get a court date call your congressman back and tell them you have a date. Give them your FED EX tracking # and who signed for it. I got our clearances back, in my hands, 4 business days after I called my congressman's office. They can find it and get it done in a couple of days if need be. Push your congressman, that's what we elected them for.
I'm exhausted by it all, too. Just do your best with the FBI stuff; while everyone's comments are helpful, we just went through this a few weeks ago and it was infuriating. Our senator's office called and we got ours back a couple of weeks inside the 10-week wait that I was CONSTANTLY quoted when I called; it didn't matter to whom I spoke. They couldn't help get ours logged any faster but I do think they were processed a little faster (although now they're just sitting with in a region that keeps making us prove our paperwork is legit).
Ouch... I am so sorry that you have been waiting so long - I am a little embarassed to be complaining so loudly about my wait. I am humbled by your perserverence and resolution to be strong and just get through it and back to your daugher. Thanks for the support and for being a better example of the courage and strength this journey continually demands. I wish that the ice would crack and you could just get back there. thinking of you... hope your good news comes soon.
