I seem to be having a hard time here in Moscow. The Marriott sent me to 2 different places to buy baby food and the first only carried formula and the second just had jars of baby apples. Our coordinator never called back to let us know how the US Embassy went with our paperwork. The Marriott's playroom is closed for repairs. And I guess its just a lot of adjustment and worry.

First of all.... too stinkin' cute!!!!!
Second of all... I totally get the emotional roller coaster you are on. I could not wait to get the heck out of there and just be home. Hotel living with a toddler is not easy or fun. The adjustment alone of having this little person you barely know is scary and exhausting. I don't know which Marriott you are at, but let us know so we can give tips if we have any. Good luck! You are almost done!
We stayed at this really fancy Mariott - with a marble rotunday. The staff gave Daniel and Maria a stuffed bear and Daniel still talks about how he loved that place now! I was totally miserable those rough few days in Moscow. This time will pass.....and every day was better than the day before for many months after we landed at home! Hang in there!!!!
She's cute as can be!
Hang in there....hopefully you can get out of there and on your way home soon!!! Anna looks sooooooo happy!!! She is adorable!
I agree, the days in Moscow weren't much fun. We were running on empty and just trying to get things done to come home. We never found a place to buy baby food either, perhaps try yogurt for her. Colby loved it. Things will get better soon. And she is just so cute!

Where are you staying? If at the Grand, make a right on Tverskaya street, then make a right on the street with KFC on the corner. Walk down awhile and there will be a grocery store on your right. Baby food is by the fish counter in the back of the store. Good luck and hang in there! You'll be home soooo soon.
Congrats, by the way! She's such a beautiful girl.
Oh my gosh, she looks SO happy!!!! You are so truly blessed. I can feel your pain about being in Moscow and not being able to find what you need. We looked for a thermometer for days....Which Marriott are you at? We were right around the corner from one and there was a great grocery store that had tons of baby stuff. Also, there's a few great kid's stores too (kind of like Babies R Us) and they sell baby food.
Enjoy, enjoy!!
Just sent you an email but wanted to tell you after seeing the pics here that I think Anna looks GOOD! :) Also Libbie wouldn't drink either in the beginning. I don't think the orphanage gives them many liquids. Libbie would only drink from a spoon so I spoon-fed her liquids for the first 2+ months. I think they are used to getting soup broth fed to them that way??? Hang in there! She's going to be FINE when you get her home. (((hugs)))
I remember emailing you about my adjustment problems while still in Russia. You encouraged me, and you were right! Now it's my turn. All of you have a lot to adjust to; you're physically and emotionally worn out, it's all new and you are all in a strange place. Give it a little time. It won't be long...you will be amazed how far all of you will come in a very short time. You are SO close to home, Shelly. I am full of joy for your family. Anna is a beautiful addition. The smile will melt a heart!!!!!
Oh, I feel your pain. While we were in Russia we were so happy to have the girls but in all honesty we were MISERABLE. Homesick, hot, worried, stressed, not eating, trying to get to know them while they tried to get to know us, etc. We felt so guilty because we just wanted to be over-the-moon happy but we were so miserable in many ways. I hope your stay in Moscow is as brief as possible and that you're headed home very soon. She is absolutely ADORABLE! (But you know that). E-mail me if you need or want!
She looks super happy Shelly!
This is a HUGE adjustment for you! I am certain you are exhausted both physically and mentally. I was in a complete 'fog' at that time.
If Jen's right, we stayed at the Grand too - and it was not a great place to get groceries. We had our driver drop us off at the store to get a few things and I did a quick run for the things we needed. We walked down to the KFC and went to a little coffee shop in the other direction that had soup, which the children loved! And, if you're staying there internet costs a fortune and I'm guessing it kept us from posting.....along with trying to keep them in the room. If you brought a bathing suit they have a great indoor pool!
Those pictures are sooooo cute! She is always smiling and laughing! She looks so happy. Hang in there...you're almost home!!!
